The other very cool feature that arrived in 4.3 was SmartAlign, which has also since been included in an update for VocAlign Ultra. The same approach can provide you with extremely realistic double-tracked vocals in seconds. It opens in the background, running things behind the scenes, but you just need to click a few buttons on the Audiosuite plugin, while selecting your sections to align and you can be out of there in seconds. Now with enhanced Audiosuite plugins, you can use the power of Revoice Pro without even touching its stand-alone interface. Celemony says the algorithm listens the way humans do, rather than taking an average pitch over a note’s duration. Prior to Revoice Pro 4.3, I was doing this with Vocalign Ultra, also with great success, and still would be if RVP 4.3 didn’t come along. Celemony has also improved the accuracy of its Melodic algorithm, as we learn when we compare a singer’s performance in Melodyne 4 and 5, with automatic pitch quantisation applied, and hear a subtle difference.

All those facilities are of course still in the stand-alone software for when you do need to go in deep, but sometimes, you’ve just got a stack of vocals and you want to tighten up their timing fast – like ‘within a minute or two’ fast.

I have marveled at Revoice Pro in the past, as our own Eli Krantzberg made it all look so easy, zipping around, doing incredible things with pitch and alignment. Normally a dot release wouldn’t provide such a key difference over the previous version, but aside from the normal slew of small fixes and changes, at least within Pro Tools, RVP 4.3 is the version that brought the power of Revoice Pro to the lazy masses – of which I am a reluctant member. Having Komplete 10 ultimate I have every sound I need, I just play the part over.My product for 2021 is Synchro Arts Revoice Pro v4.3. I don't think it get used as much as it was expected to be when it was released? That's great for people that need to change cords of audio files.

I don't know if Melodyne costing $400 has anything to do with it, but I know the DNA version breaks cords downs. I have upgraded from Studio one professional 4 to Studio one professional 5.

But of course Revoice has some strong points which you cannot find in Melodyne like copying params of one vocal to the other track when tuning, alignment of timing (what attracted me the most as I believe Melodyne also is doing great. Not sure if it is still available as free. I haven't found any limitations for fixing tuning and timing issues. Groove3 with SynchroArts provided free tutorial about Revoice Pro. It can shorten/lengthen notes, quantize notes, fix bad vibrato or shaky notes. Vari Audio does more than basic tuning for me. Having said that, Melodyne obviously does a lot more than just basic tuning (or it wouldn't cost $400) and there are some other creative uses of it, sometimes with automation, but the OP only really asked about basic tuning so none of that other stuff even applies here and would be off topic. Great for editing pitches of instrument and vocal recordings (auto-tuning your voice) and even sounding like a robot and is a Music Production App in the Audio & Music category. I don't have any opinion about which is better for basic vocal tuning but it stands to reason if Variaudio works well for that and is already there in the host it should logically be a better choice than any third party plugin for that basic job, assuming they sound the same and/or are both of acceptable quality, as relates to efficiency anyway, and of course, you already own it so it's free. Celemony Melodyne is described as is the perfect quick and easy tool for all your tuning needs. While both VocAlign Ultra and Revoice Pro are capable of aligning both the timing and pitch of two different signals, Revoice Pro also features an advanced pitch and timing editor. Was just asking out of curiosity since I haven't personally used Variaudio since v5.5 or so.
